This past Saturday, Beki and I went out to Dirty's in Stillwater to celebrate their last night. It was fun but sad too. A lot a great memories at that place, not only just hanging out, but shows as well. Steve and I spent a few years playing Monday nights there, and I also played one of the first shows at Dirty's in August of 2004 with Stoney and Bleu. Mike Eli from Eli Young Band and I also played several acoustic shows together at Dirty's over the years. It was always a great time! So now, after 7 and half years of playing Monday night acoustic shows starting at The Wormy Dog in Stillwater, to Roosters, and finally at Dirty's, it will be a bit strange to not have a Monday night show anymore. I think I'll enjoy the break, concentrate on the full band stuff coming up, and start cutting down on the acoustic shows once the CD is released. Saturday night was fun, and it was good to see people and past Dirty's employees I hadn't seen in a while. Dirty's went out right with a full house of friends and strong drinks! I'm sad to see it end.
I'm writing this blog while I watch Oklahoma State basketball against Colorado. Gotta have a better game than they did against A& M on Wednesday! That one hurt.
Anyway, last Saturday I got a chance to play at a new club in Tecumseh called The Squander Bar, formerly JT's Cowtown. Bryon White and the Damn Quails opened up and really sounded great. Bryon had some heavy hitters sitting in with him too. John Fullbright was playing bass and Alan Orebaugh from Mama Sweet was sitting in on guitar. It was a lot of fun catching up with those guys and meeting Bryon and the rest of the band. I have another show there on Feb. 25. It will be the first full band show, so I hope to see a lot of you out there!! The only negative about the show is that someone decided to steal the tag off of my van! Not really sure why they would do this! Well, all I can say to that person is, I hope you enjoy it. If you get caught with it though, you won't be happy because I did let the police know about it.
That wasn't the only negative thing that happened this week, but sometimes you have those moments that challenge you and really let you appreciate those good times. I really don't let those things get to me at all. I know who I am and what I can do and I'm extremely excited about what is to come. I'm putting my band together and look forward to getting in front of fans full band! Not to mention the fact that I'm getting closer to having the CD done and out to the public! Busy times here at Brandon Jackson Music!
For you fans in Texas, I will be playing two acoustic song swap shows next month with my good friend Bobby Duncan at Woody's in Ft. Worth and The Mule Barn in Justin, TX. Checkout the calendar, spread the word, and get your butt to the show! You will not want to miss it! Another fun development for Texas fans, I'm working with my buddy Brison Bursey on a few acoustic song swaps with him as well. I'll keep you updated on when those get finalized. Also, a big congrats to Brison as he just recently got engaged! I'm very happy for him and his new fiance, Shannon.
Thanks again for all the support and don't forget to call 95.9 The Ranch in Ft. Worth and 105.5 Cowboy Country in Stillwater and request the acoustic version of "Now that I Found You"! I keep getting congratulatory messages from fans who have heard the song on the radio, and I wanna say a big thank you for that!
Until next time! B
p.s. I watched Randy Rogers and the guys on The Tonight show last night. Couldn't be more excited for them as they have made multiple appearances on the late night shows. I love that not only great musicians, but great people continue to have success and realize their dreams.
Hey guys, I hope everyone had a Happy Holidays! I had a great Christmas and New Year with my family and just enjoyed my time off. No it's time to get back to work! I'm excited about this new year and everything that is to come. I am finishing up the mix of the CD this week, and am on track to have it out by March! No date is set as of yet, but I will announce it very soon! I have also had the opportunity to do a lot of interviews about my upcoming release and you can find those in the Nashville Music Guide (as well as my mug on the cover), and the Unrated Music article. You can pick up the January issue of The Nashville Music guide at Hastings in Stillwater for free, or at any of my shows! Pick one up! Also a big thanks to 95.9 The Ranch in Ft. Worth, TX and 105.5 Cowboy Country in Stillwater, OK for playing an acoustic version of "Now That I Found You". Please give them a ring and request the song! One of my New Year's resolutions is to stay in touch with my fans through this blog on a regular basis, so please keep coming back and I will keep you all updated! Thanks, and here's to a HUGE 2011!!
So last week I got to play an acoustic show with my good friend Johnny Cooper! It had been way too long since we had the chance to do that, and it was a blast! It was good to catch up with him and play some songs together. If you missed it, don't worry, I think we will plan another one!

Today I'm sitting in the studio in Denton, TX watching Eric Delegard work his magic mixing the CD and all I can say is WOW! I finished recording all my stuff in August and haven't heard a note since then, and I had a few of my musicians finish up their tracks while I was away so I hadn't heard their work. Amazing stuff! This is turning out to be an amazing record! I can't wait for you all to hear it! I'm still shooting for a late Feb./early March release, but I will have to keep you updated on that.
Thanks to everyone who came out to a show over this past week, and I'm looking forward to the interview tonight, so I hope you all will be listening, watching and chatting! -B

So last week my Director of Social Media/Publicist got in touch with me about a project called Acoustic Oklahoma. It's a simple project where a guy by the name of Casey Friedman records different Oklahoma Artists acoustic with a small video camera in a rustic old apartment atop the Horn Trader in Oklahoma City. A simple yet brilliant idea! If you haven't heard of it, check it out, it's awesome the number of talented singer songwriters there are in this state! This past Wednesday I was able to meet up and record a song and though it was short, it was a great experience. I was very honored to be a part of this project. Here is the video from that session. I'm not sure exactly what is gonna come from this project, but it is something that has tremendous potential to shine a light on the many talented musicians this state still has to offer the world. Thanks Casey!
I wanna thank Katie Key for catching up with me this last week for the readers of Best in Texas Magazine and The Texas Music Chart. Here's the write up she had in her "Key Notes" section on the Texas Music Chart Website:
BIG SCREEN DEBUTS
My buddy Brandon Jackson (formerly with No Justice) sent me a note as to what’s going on with him and damn it’s cool!
“I have been very busy over the last year since I left No Justice. I have spent the time playing acoustic shows and putting together my first solo album. I just recently finished recording and am currently mixing the project. I'm really proud of it and am shooting for a release date sometime in February 2011. I will be putting a band together soon and get back out on the road full band to promote the CD.
Also, this summer I got a role in a film written and directed by Famke Janssen starring Milla Jovovich, Bill Pullman, Marcia Cross, and Rory Cochrane titled ‘Bringing Up Bobby.’ It was a blast getting to work with Milla and Rory and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. The film should be released sometime next year!” That is so cool!
Also, we are working on a new website in preparation for the new cd release. I will let ya know as the launch date gets closer. Thank you to all the fans for supporting my music and sharing it with everyone you know! I look forward to getting out on the road full band and seeing you all face to face and getting the cd in all of your hands!
